Why We Use the Latest Technology


In the past, a root canal was not exactly the most comfortable procedure. However, despite popular beliefs that still exist, root canals are now virtually pain-free! This is partly due to new techniques, and partly due to the latest technology.

Newer technologies have also led to more precise procedures and more accurate results. This is particularly important because the canals within the root are very small, making it harder to eradicate the infection from certain areas. Our use of certain cutting-edge technology eliminates this problem.

Our Cutting-Edge Technology


Some of the technology we use includes:
•  3D Imaging: Dental cone beam tomography, or CBCT scans provide us with a more comprehensive overview of your oral health. We may suggest CBCT if a digital x-ray does not provide enough information. CBCT technology produces a 3D image of your teeth, soft tissues, and underlying bone within a single scan.
•  Root ZX Electronic Apex Locator: This piece of technology is one of the world's most popular and effective apex locators, with a 97.5% accuracy rate. The apex of the root contains the tooth pulp that is vulnerable to infection. With the locator, we can better pinpoint the area of infection and preserve more healthy tooth material.
•  Global A Series Dental Operating Microscope: A root canal requires the utmost accuracy due to the intimate nature of the root's structure. Our advanced global A series dental operating microscope allows for enhanced precision through a magnified image of the tooth.
•  Digital Radiographs: A digital x-ray is safer and more effective than a traditional film slide. Digital radiographs emit much less radiation, while providing an image that is easy to magnify on an attached monitor. This allows us to diagnose even smaller instances of decay, infection, and other damage to the tooth.
•  Ultrasonic Units: We use ultrasonic units to sterilize and thoroughly clean our dental instruments so our root canals and other treatments are completely safe.
•  Nickel Titanium Endodontic Rotary Files: This engine-driven instrument is a vital part of modern endodontic therapy. The nickel titanium alloy has cutting edges that shape and prepare infected pulp and enamel with remarkable accuracy.
•  ASI Dental Carts: ASI dental carts have ushered in a new era of dental treatment. This piece of equipment is best thought of as an all-in-one device for dental instruments. An integrated equipment system like an ASI dental cart allows us to provide more convenient, quick, and cost-effective treatment.
•  Portable X-Ray Unit Minimal Radiograph (Nomad): A portable x-ray unit allows us to bring imaging services directly to you sitting in our dental chair. Like conventional digital x-rays, this imaging equipment emits low radiation levels and gives us more control while focusing on a specific area of your mouth.
